Connie Leininger, Author of Wounded Souls

A Bit About Me

I am a graduate of Stephens College and live in the St. Louis area with my brindle-colored dog, Wiley. As a lifelong lover of literature, I enjoy getting lost in a good book, spending quality time with family and friends, traveling, and exploring Missouri’s wineries. My debut novel, Wounded Souls, marks the beginning of my writing journey, and I eagerly anticipate creating more stories in the future.

Wounded Souls: Healing Often Comes from the Most Unexpected Places

“Wounded Souls” is a story of second chances and the power of forgiveness. The genre is Woman’s fiction with a romantic theme. Emmett, nearing the end of his life, faces a profound choice: continue living without the ability to communicate or gift his remaining time to someone who has never experienced life on Earth. Opting for the latter gives life to Gabe, a man tasked with guiding and protecting Emmett’s own family.

Peyton’s Journey: Love, Loss, and Self-Discovery

Peyton, Emmett’s granddaughter, is an honor student with a promising future when her world is upended by an unplanned pregnancy after a fleeting moment with Colby. As a single mother to little Riley, Peyton’s heart becomes a battlefield of emotions—torn between her complicated feelings towards Colby and the stability offered by her fiancé, Braden. It’s within this emotional turmoil that Gabe steps in, offering wisdom and guidance.

Gabe’s Quest for Redemption

Gabe isn’t just a guardian; he is tasked with seeking redemption for Emmett, who had failed to cherish the time he had with his loved ones.

However, Gabe’s journey is far from straightforward. He finds himself distracted by the complexities of human life and emotions. His struggle is a poignant reminder that even with a second chance, overcoming past failures isn’t easy.
